2. Open “Device Manager,” locate “USB Serial Port (COM3),” right-click to select “Properties,” then choose “Port Settings” and click “Advanced…”.
3. Set the COM Port to 9, set the delay timer to 1, then click “OK.”

Step 2:

1. Open C:/EDIABAS/BIN/EDIABAS.INI with Notepad and check that it reads “Interface = STD:OBD.”
2. Set “TCP Port=6801.”
3. Open C:/EDIABAS/BIN/OBD.INI and check that it reads “OBD Port=COM9.”

Step 3:

1. Connect your car to the laptop using the INPA K+DCAN cable, run the BMW ISTA software, and click on settings.
2. Select “VCI Coding” and “Ediabas standard settings (ediabas.ini),” then click OK.
3. Return to the main menu, click on “Operate,” choose “Read Car Data,” and click “Complete.”
4. Wait for the vehicle recognition process to finish.
